    [BW] Belinda vs Gord

Belinda moved along the line of people shuffling towards the city gates. Hooded, holding her baby, there was nothing exceptional about her. From the corner of her eyes, she kept a look out for that one guard, the one that seemed to have been eying her....

Half an hour later, as she walked through the alleys of the last town she had to pass through to get to the heart of the big city, a town ready to become swallowed and a suburd, she breathed a sigh of relief. That guard had not shown his face again, and in the shadows, she'd be inconspicuous and safe. Surely.

At that moment, Gord's hulking form emerged from a side alley and blocked Belinda's way. "End of line, Bloody B." Gord tapped his ever present cudgel against his meaty palm. "There's quite a price on your head so unless you've got something to make me forget I saw you," Gord grinned, "you're coming with me."

Belinda's hand moved into her sash.

"The Lord our God sees us, and wishes peace upon us. My past is filled with Evil: he has allowed it to be cleansed. We need have no quarrel before him. I pray that you let us pass, and that the light of the Lord shine upon you and fill your life with purity and goodness."

"Your quarrel is with me and the town magistrate." Gord snarled. "And if that is all you have to offer, then pray to your god for mercy for you'll get none from me." Gord readied his cudgel and looked forward to the fun.

Initial positioning, 5 dice: (6, 2, 2, 3, 6:≥4) = 2. I can see from the die roller, that's a tie. Do you like to break it with your CO?

Yes I'll break it with Fleet of Foot and set the positioning at Optimal for his club.

    Ok, here I go!

    V1:

Withdraw 5d, (3, 3, 6, 4, 1:≥4) = 2s. So we go from my lunging to my outside lunging, and you in lunging.
Avoid, pray for blessing (ob3). No need to roll.
    Avoid 5d (2, 2, 3, 5, 4:≥4) = 2s = 1s over ob (withdraw) , pray for blessing action #2

    V2:
    Withdraw 5d (do I even need to roll this, now that you've rolled for a charge? interesting.). (3, 3, 6, 6, 3:≥4) = 2s
    (ND Speed: (6, 3, 5, 6, 5:≥4) = 4s)
    Avoid 5d, (5, 1, 6, 2, 6:≥4) = 3s. (2s if the +1 ob from withdraw is in effect)
    Total defense against charge: 6s!
    pray 5d: 5, 2, 5, 3, 3:≥4) = 2s - God's not with me!

    V3:
Withdraw. You're not opposing, so I automatically get intent, right? So we're both out of striking range, and I'm praying for a little mojo...
    Avoid, pray "Oh Lord, ..."

    V1:

    Close
    Avoid
    Strike

    V2:
    Close
    Charge/Tackle (2, 5, 5, 3, 2, 6, 6, 4:≥4) = 5 successes but you get Speed Natural defense plus Avoid and I'm at +2 0b from having to close two fighting distances. This ain't gonna be pretty.

    V3: Close
    Lock
Changed to Lie down and drool due to failed Charge.

So its my close vs your withdraw and the dice hate me.

    6d (5d Speed +1d Weapon length) (2, 6, 3, 1, 1, 3:≥4) = 1

Actually your second Avoid is at +1ob for your first avoid so that is no successes over Ob.

Not that it matters because I am at +1ob for Closing and +1ob for lunging distance so there is no chance of me hitting you even if I had all success on my strike which I don't.

    2W6≥4: (4, 3:≥4) = 1 On to Volley two.
