Belinda moved along the line of people shuffling towards the city gates. Hooded, holding her baby, there was nothing exceptional about her. From the corner of her eyes, she kept a look out for that one guard, the one that seemed to have been eying her....
Half an hour later, as she walked through the alleys of the last town she had to pass through to get to the heart of the big city, a town ready to become swallowed and a suburd, she breathed a sigh of relief. That guard had not shown his face again, and in the shadows, she'd be inconspicuous and safe. Surely.
